On June 17, 2008, Eurocopter, the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), Eurocopter South East Asia and EADS Innovation Works signed a cooperation agreement to improve maintenance procedures for the RSAF’s fleet of Super Puma helicopters. The aim is to replace some visual inspections with an automatic surveillance procedure carried out by the Eurocopter Health and Usage Monitoring System (EuroHUMS™). This procedure supplies the necessary data for assessing the condition of the helicopter. The contract has a lifespan of three years. Throughout this period, the RSAF will provide feedback from an operator’s point of view, which will enhance the research of the Eurocopter systems experts who specialize in defining new services. This new type of partnership, which focuses on research and services, derives from a relationship based on trust. It also shows the willingness of a prestigious customer like the RSAF to contribute to a very high-tech field.
