The U.S. Coast Guard evaluated the work performed by American Eurocopter between June 2007 and June 2008, with regard to the repair of the main rotor blades of their HH-65 Dauphin helicopters. This evaluation assessed service and product quality, compliance with delivery lead times, and the commercial relations with Eurocopter. The score range was from 1 (poor) to 5 (outstanding).
American Eurocopter was awarded 4 (excellent) for its product quality. The main rotor blades were repaired according to the specifications of the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), and no quality defects occurred during the assessment period. The contractual requirements in terms of performance were also largely surpassed.
The customer allocated the same score (4) to Eurocopter for its compliance with the delivery lead times. Delays that occurred were announced and justified: Some blades had to be sent to La Courneuve (France) due to the extent of the repairs required.
Finally, the commercial relations with American Eurocopter were also given a 4/5, as the US government was more than satisfied with the answers it received to technical, administrative or service-related questions. The U.S. authorities were full of praise for the American Eurocopter blade workshop, describing its staff as “highly skilled and extremely helpful”. The customer expressed that the workshop employees knew how to anticipate problems and were swift and to the point in their replies to any request for information. The work of American Eurocopter has been highly rated for many years now, which attests to Eurocopter Group’s ability to be and remain the privileged supplier of such a prestigious and demanding customer as the U.S. Coast Guard.
