During the EBACE 2008 Air Show, held in Geneva from May 20 to 22,
Falcon Aviation Services (FAS) placed an order for the first EC135
“Helicopter by Hermès”, whose delivery is scheduled for the end of 2008.
“We are quite honored to be the first ‘Helicopter by Hermès’ customer,”
said Salem Al Kayoumi, Chairman of FAS. “When you get on board this
helicopter, you are immediately struck by the great comfort and sense
of well-being. Everything has been carefully studied down to the finest
detail, and the craftsmanship is superb. The aircraft is designed to meet
the highest expectations of passengers, offering them the luxury of traveling
in complete serenity. And all their needs have been taken care of.”
In other news, Eurocopter signed a contract on May 28, 2008, at the ILA
Berlin Air Show for the acquisition of Motorflug Baden-Baden GmbH.
The company, which has facilities in Baden-Baden, Rheinmünster and
Schönhagen (near Berlin), is specialized in maintenance, repair and
overhaul (MRO). Its activities will be integrated in Eurocopter’s customer
support operations to complete the Group’s MRO offer in the civil helicopter
market. That same day, BWB and Eurocopter signed an agreement
to retrofit six German Army CH-53Gs. The helicopters will be
equipped with ballistic protection and specialized mission equipment,
and are scheduled to be delivered between May and November of 2009. |
