In December 2007, ESAL embarked on an HIV/AIDS drive to assist AIDS victims.
During a presentation held at ESAL in 2007, the staff came up with ideas of how they
could assist and provide care and support to people with AIDS, and develop a community
action plan to fight the stigma and discrimination surrounding the disease.
The staff donated toys, clothing and food to the Sparrow Rainbow Village at the end
of the year. In January 2008, Eurocopter was approached by Father Guido Bourgeois
of the Inkanyezi HIV/AIDS Organization requesting assistance. ESAL decided to assist
the organization with the purchase of a bakkie (i.e. Afrikaans term for a small truck).
Employees’ children assisted with the branding of the vehicle that was given to
the organization on March 6, 2008. |
