A great moment at Heli-Expo 2008: the EC175 is unveiled to the public.

It is not every day that Eurocopter unveils a new helicopter in its range to the general public. Heli-Expo 2008 will undoubtedly go down in the history of Eurocopter. The commercial launch of the EC175, the latest addition to the Eurocopter range, was a great success. With 111 intentions to purchase, the new aircraft won over the public and largely surpassed every objective. Thirteen customers from ten countries have already selected this new aircraft. But the other helicopters of the Eurocopter range were not left behind either. In total, 120 models were ordered for EMS, law enforcement, corporate/VIP, tourism, utility and oil & gas operations. Another important event at this show was the delivery of the first EC255 in the United States to Era Helicopters LLC, a subsidiary of Seacor Holdings Inc., which will use the aircraft for oil & gas operations in the Gulf of Mexico. An additional three EC255s will be delivered to Era Helicopters later this year, followed by two more in 2009 and two more in 2010.
