On 18 December 2007, the Australian armed forces
took delivery of their first two MRH90s (1). A ceremony
was held at Australian Aerospace, Eurocopter’s
Australian subsidiary in Brisbane, to celebrate the occasion.
It was attended by numerous federal and provincial
government officials, local VIPs, representatives of
the Australian armed forces, and industrial partners. In
his speech, Eurocopter President and CEO Dr. Lutz
Bertling stressed the excellent cooperation established
several years ago between Eurocopter, its industrial
partners and the Australian authorities – a precious
asset that has enabled the company to deliver its first
machines on schedule.
In addition, on 30 November, the DGA (2) ordered
68 NH90s, including 12 firm orders for the TTH (3) version.
The remaining 56 helicopters are expected to be
firmly ordered in 2008 (22 units) and 2010 (34 units).
These helicopters are destined for the French army.
