Azal Helicopter mainly operates its two AS332 L1 Super Pumas and four EC155 B1s on behalf of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) to take passengers out to Caspian Sea oil rigs.
The helicopters also transport the country’s top authorities, and carry out aerial filming and mapping surveys. Rovshan N. Aliyev, the Director of Azal Helicopter, explained that Eurocopter helicopters were chosen because “they have the proven ability to operate in extremely harsh conditions, particularly in the North Sea, and in temperatures from -40ºC up to +50ºC. But they really excel in terms of performance with economical fuel consumption, low noise level, and easy maintenance.
And of course, they come with the most advanced technologies, including the latest generation navigation equipment, without neglecting cabin design and comfort.
We’re satisfied with the support provided by Eurocopter and we would like to cooperate more closely together in the future.”
