Throughout 2007,
Eurocopter will be
celebrating the onehundredth
year
anniversary of the
helicopter.
On 13 November 1907,
Paul Cornu performed
a vertical flight for the first
time in a strange-looking
machine… called a
helicopter.
The helicopters that we
now manufacture no
longer bear much
resemblance to Cornu’s
machine, but the same
passion still drives the men
and women of Eurocopter,
as it has so many pioneers
in the industry.
Their
commitment has made the
helicopter what it is today:
a powerful, comfortable,
safe machine capable of
saving peoples’ lives.
At the many events where
Eurocopter will be participating
in 2007 – and also
in venues such as Rotor
Journal, a dedicated web
site, and a film – we will
be retracing the fabulous
history of the helicopter,
highlighting the privileged
heritage which has made
us the world’s leading
helicopter manufacturer.
