A New Eurocopter Customer

In 2006, the State of Veracruz in Mexico signed a contract for an AS365 N3 Dauphin and an AS350 B3 Ecureuil.

The State of Veracruz, one of the richest in Mexico, has purchased an AS350 B3 Ecureuil and an AS365 N3 Dauphin to perform different civil defense missions (rescue, traffic surveillance, equipment transport, etc.) and to transport passengers.
“We want to cover a wide range of missions with these aircraft,” explained Governor Fidel Herrera. “That’s why the flexibility, high safety levels and technological advances on these helicopters were critical factors behind our choice.”

The helicopters will be stationed in Jalapa and at the port of Veracruz where the Navy is based. “Veracruz has 741 km of coastline.
It also has populated mountainous regions at altitudes of 5,200 meters. We must be able to protect these inhabitants.
We need aircraft that are equally at home in sea operations and in high mountains – and that was no easy task with the helicopters we used to have.
We are convinced that we have made a good investment for the State of Veracruz,” the Governor concluded.

Dominique Gavault, Head of Eurocopter of México.

“This contract represents an important milestone for Eurocopter of México for many reasons: the State of Veracruz is a new customer, who has decided to replace its fleet of Bell helicopters with Eurocopter products.
Furthermore, Veracruz has the biggest port in Mexico, and to have its Governor among our clientele is a strategic factor for Eurocopter.
We are also implementing a development project in this region, which is home to other important Eurocopter customers.
And finally, Veracruz is a very dynamic state and this contract is further proof of the confidence its government places in us.”
