“In Feb 2006 Forest Helicopters took delivery of a factory new AS350 B2 Ecureuil aircraft from Eurocopter Canada in Fort Erie, Ontario.This aircraft is an addition to three Ecureuil/ Astars in BA version Forest Helicopters currently operates.In addition to servicing the mining and forest industry Forest also provides services to various utility companies.Due to our geographical location (Lake of the Woods) and the abundance of cottages on the lake, Forest Helicopters has been called upon to move numerous loads of building materials to some of the rougher building sites.

The AS350 series have proven to be the ideal machine for this task.The aircraft’s available external payload and ease of flying characteristics allow our crews to gently place heavy loads within centimeters of desired drop zones.Every year our helicopters fly close to 600 hours and our customers are won over by the speed of the Ecureuil/Astar, its excellent cabin visibility, the extra space provided by the baggage hold, and its heating - which really works! You have to remember that, sometimes, winter temperatures here can drop to -40 C.

We are very pleased with spare parts delivery from Eurocopter Canada and we recognize the dedication to customer service from the component overhaul shop in Fort Erie, Ontario.We must also commend Eurocopter Canada for the excellent paint and finishing of our aircraft. The scheme created by our son Scott was a challenge that Eurocopter easily met and delivered."
