More than 200 helicopters operated by Eurocopter customers were in action during the FIFA World Cup.

From 9 June to 9 July 2006, the helicopters of the German Police will be on duty 24 hours a day in the 12 cities hosting the 64 matches of the FIFA World Cup. Throughout last year, Eurocopter organized numerous seminars with its customers to establish their logistic, technical, and maintenance requirements. These seminars kicked off an action plan to ensure maximum operational availability of the aircraft, knowing that, according to the most conservative estimates, 30,000 flight hours will be needed. Eurocopter has liaised with its customers to bring forward maintenance and overhaul operations so that they do not clash with the World Cup.
From 9 June, the AOG (Aircraft On Ground) teams in Germany and France, along with the Eurocopter technical support in Donauwörth, Kassel, Bonn, Berlin, and Marignane, will be on red alert and ready to respond to any situation, day or night, seven days a week. Tech Reps are also ready to travel out from these five sites should customers require their assistance.

The Golden Goal: Spare Parts Procurement
One of the main actions concerns spare parts procurement and Eurocopter has set up special warehouses for this purpose in Marignane and Donauwörth. A precise estimate of requirements has been made to cover the number of flight hours. In addition, all the warehouses at the different Eurocopter sites in Germany, and the consignment stocks of the BMVg (the German Federal Ministry of Defense) and the Federal Police have been re-procured and optimized. Eurocopter has also asked all its customers to order their parts in advance, and the main suppliers have agreed to guarantee the procurement of the most critical parts throughout the World Cup. Even the carriers have introduced special or one-off transport services, and are primed to deliver parts 24 hours a day, if necessary. Everything is therefore ready for the kick off!
