Pierre Tchoukavoff, President of Eurocopter Training Services |
The subsidiary concept of ETS fits in with the development rationale of Eurocopter’s overall services offer and, at the same time, guarantees the Group’s standard of quality. The creation of the subsidiary gives concrete shape to the wider range of products and services being offered by Eurocopter to meet the needs of its customers, i.e. strong support both before and after delivery, backed by a service throughout the entire life cycle of the helicopter.
The helicopter market and the aeronautical regulations are undergoing massive changes, and the operators are therefore voicing new expectations. A case in point is the JAR FCL2 (Joint Aviation Requirements Flight Crew License) standard, which creates a new regulatory environment for the training and qualification of flight personnel. ETS has answered this need and is already offering services that incorporate these changes. The subsidiary has invested heavily to ensure it is among the top training centers complying with this new regulatory standard and to guarantee customers can operate their helicopters in complete safety.
A Very Advanced Teaching Concept The increasing use of avionics (the "Avionique Nouvelle" range) has brought about a real transformation in the teaching programs. Customers now operate helicopters that have added a new dimension to the work of their crews because of the higher and higher performances of the onboard systems. The service no longer just consists in delivering a helicopter and its type rating; today, it covers the supply of effective support so that the customers can fully manage their helicopters for their own missions, in other words, a new culture of flight management.
Customers will enjoy the choice of a spectrum of new offers, organized in three groups (see inset). ETS President Pierre Tchoukavoff explains: "We want our customers to be able to operate their helicopters in the best possible way with a level of safety that guarantees their operations over the long term, thanks to the broader offer of services. The aim of this subsidiary is to create a center of excellence, a worldwide reference in terms of aeronautical training.” |
