“The EC145 is an excellent helicopter. We have five of them performing Emergency Medical missions in the Swiss valleys. They performed 2,468 flight hours in 2005, and one-third of them at night. For our primary missions, we work in cooperation with law enforcement agencies or fire fighters to transport victims of road accidents or severely burned patients to the nearest hospital. Our secondary mission is to transfer patients from smaller hospitals to the larger medical centers.

The EC145 offers many advantages: its roomy cabin means that doctors and nurses can care for patients in the best possible conditions. Plus, with its new-generation avionics, the EC145 can perform missions in severe weather conditions while maintaining its impressive operating range. During the year, the EC145s fly 11 out of 12 months (with only one month for maintenance). After three years in service, they have chalked up nearly 7,000 flight hours, and continue to perfectly meet our expectations.”
