At the Paris Air Show, Eurocopter held a day-long celebration to honor the Ecureuil family’s nearly four decades of multi-mission operational excellence. The event brought together more than 1,000 invited guests, including Ecureuil operators from across the globe, suppliers, program managers and more.
Participants gathered at Le Bourget airport’s heliport during the day to discover the latest version of the Ecureuil, the AS350 B3e, and to learn more about Ecureuil-related support and services, training and innovation at informational kiosks.
In the evening, attendees let their hair down at an evening event held in the center of Paris, which included entertainment, food and a photo contest. Submitted by Ecureuil family operators, selected photos were voted upon by a jury, which designated three winners.
Mr. Brun of Chamonix Mont Blanc Helicoptères won first prize with a unique photo: the shadow of an Ecureuil against a cliff being climbed by a mountaineer.
Ecureuil family is a true success story for Eurocopter. To date, there are more than 5,000 Ecureuil helicopters across the globe. The family has clocked up some 22 million flight hours, and has achieved many impressive records, including the world’s highest takeoff from Mount Everest at an altitude of 8,850 meters.
