03/30/2006 : Eurocopter Chile sells an EC130B4 helicopter to Aero Service during FIDAE 2006 - During FIDAE 2006, on Thursday 30 March, Bernhard Brenner, the Managing Director of Eurocopter Chile S.A. signed a sales contract with Aero Service, represented by the businessman Max Marambio, for an EC130 B4, the fourth helicopter of this type in Chile.

Eurocopter’s EC 135, the best-selling light Twin worldwide, gets new Upgrade Certification: More Payload, More Performance, More Range - Eurocopter’s order book for the EC 135 topped 500 units at the end of 2005, with 87 aircraft sold in 2005 alone. Fifty percent of them were for the USA. It is the company’s top seller and the best-selling light twin-engined helicopter worldwide. To stay ahead of the competition, Eurocopter has certified an increased take-off weight of 2,910 kg (from formerly 2,835 kg). LBA/EASA certification was granted on February 21, 2006. Deliveries will start as of late September 2006. For customers operating the new variant, which is designated EC 135 T2i or P2i respectively, the benefits are evident: More payload, more performance, more range.
03/30/2006 : The EC145 serves Law Enforcement and EMS Operators worldwide – The Good Response to the Chilean Homeland Security Needs. - The EC145, which excels in terms of cabin space and versatility, has firmly established itself as a rugged, reliable workhorse in the law enforcement and EMS markets worldwide. Orders presently stand at 95 aircraft, and more than 75 have already entered service. In 2005, new orders for a total of 20 EC145s were booked, predominantly in the American and European EMS (Emergency Medical Services) and law enforcement markets. The annual production rate will be increased from presently 19 per year to 25 in 2006

03/27/2006 : First Female Helicopter Mechanic in Chile - Katherine Cortés Orti, aged twenty, became the first female helicopter mechanic in Chile after she successfully passed her theoretical exams (Wednesday, 22 March) and practical exams (Thursday, 23 March) organized by Chile's National Aeronautics Directorate (DGAC).
03/27/2006 : Eurocopter in Latin America - The helicopter manufacturer Eurocopter, a Division of EADS is the world's leading exporter of helicopters. This company has established sales and marketing bases in México, Brazil and Chile. A total of almost 800 military and civil helicopters from Eurocopter are operated in Latin America, with the greatest concentrations in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Ecuador.
03/17/2006 : Eurocopter confirms its Leadership in the Law Enforcement Market – Spanish Ministry of Interior selects the EC135 for its Police Forces - The Spanish Government has announced today the launch of the acquisition programme for the modernisation of the security forces. The Spanish Ministry of Interior will acquire 48 EC135 helicopters in order to modernize the existing helicopter fleets of the Guardia Civil and Cuerpo Nacional de Policía within the next eight years.
02/27/2006 : ERA (Seacor) Aviation Inc. signs MoU for EC 225 at HAI – First American Oil and Gas Operator to Select Eurocopter’s Latest Offshore Workhorse - ERA (Seacor) Aviation Inc. of Lake Charles, Louisiana, is the first U.S. offshore operator to have selected the EC 225 for oil and gas services. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed at HAI by Ed Washecka, CEO of ERA, covering the purchase of the first of two aircraft. Eurocopter is proud to add this prestigeous operator to its growing list of EC 225 customers.
02/27/2006 : Eurocopter displays Everest-conquering AS350 AStar at HeliExpo – Five World Records confirmed for Top-Performing Helicopter - Eurocopter is displaying its record-breaking AS350 B3 Ecureuil/AStar at this year’s HeliExpo. On February 14th, 2006, the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) validated and confirmed the high-altitude world record achieved with a serial AS350 B3 on May 14 and 15, 2005, with two landings and take-offs on top of Mount Everest at 8,850 meters (29,035 ft.) altitude. Piloted by Eurocopter Experimental Test Pilot Didier Delsalle, the two flights included peak-over landings on the mountain’s peak both exceeding two minutes as stipulated by the FAI regulations.
02/27/2006 : Eurocopter upgrades its most affordable twin, the Ecureuil / TwinStar – New AS355 NP to enter Market in 2007: More performance for similar Cost - To complement its successful range of light twin-engined helicopters, Eurocopter is upgrading the twin-engined AS355 N Ecureuil/TwinStar. Taking advantage of the experience accumulated on this product (more than 720 units of the AS355 series sold to date with over 3 million flight hours logged by this fleet), the new variant, designated AS355 NP, is designed as a cost-effective entry product in the twin market and will be available in April 2007. The AS355 NP will be a high performance multi-mission aircraft based on the proven technologies of the successful AS350 Ecureuil / AStar series.
02/27/2006 : Eurocopter Confirms its Key Position in the Oil and Gas Industry: In-Service Success for the EC225 and renewed Market Growth for Light and Medium Helicopters - In view of the growing world demand for oil and gas, Eurocopter has reaffirmed its key position in the helicopter market serving this industry. Offering the widest product line and highest degree of experience in adapting helicopters to the stringent requirements of the oil and gas industry, Eurocopter’s fleet in service today amounts to approx. 520 aircraft. This represents, over the 2001-2005 period, 40 percent of the market in quantity and 50 percent in value. Four types of Eurocopter’s new-generation helicopters were launched into this market during the same period – the EC135, EC145, EC155 and EC225. The company's leading role in the market is based on a fleet of more than 120 Super Pumas in the oil and gas industry worldwide, 37 of them Super Puma L2s and EC225s. Seventy aircraft of this fleet are in operation in the harsh conditions of the North Sea.
02/27/2006 : Lithuanian Border Guard orders Eurocopter EC 135 and EC 145 - The Lithuanian Border Guard has placed an order for two EC 135 and one EC 145 light-twin engine helicopters to complement its fleet of two single-engine EC 120s which have been in service since 2003. The contract is worth € 18 million. Lithuania thereby joins the large number of law enforcement and homeland security agencies in Europe already operating these helicopter types, and becomes fully compliant with European Commission and Schengen Agreement standards. The three new helicopters will be delivered by the end of 2006.

02/27/2006 : Fly neighborly with Eurocopter’s Sounds of Silence - Eurocopter is at the forefront of reducing noise emission of helicopters. Its entire new generation of helicopters – the EC120, EC130, EC135, EC145, EC155 as well their heaviest complement, the EC225, have noise levels well below ICAO limits. The EC120, EC130 and EC135 even comply with the most restrictive levels in the world, the Grand Canyon National Park Standard.
02/22/2006 : Eurocopter and Indian operator Global Vectra sign contract for three EC155 helicopters - Eurocopter and Global VECTRA Helicop, largest India-based helicopter operator for offshore missions today signed a contract for three Eurocopter EC155 aircraft. VECTRA, who had acquired its first two EC155 in 2005, will extend its missions all over India. According to Lt. General (Retd.) SJS Saighal, CEO of Global VECTRA, the EC155 as the latest member of Eurocopter’s renowned Dauphin series, offers “the optimal performance, comfort and safety characteristics for our specific mission scenarios”.

01/10/2006 : Royal Jordanian Air Force places Order for an additional four EC635s - The Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF) has placed a firm order for four additional EC635 light twin-engined helicopters. This new order will further increase the existing fleet of EC635 already in operational service with the RJAF. Two of these helicopters will be delivered at the end of 2006, the other two early 2007. Further fleet increases are considered possible.

06/29/2006 : Official contract signature between Eurocopter and the Australian government confirming the order of 34 MRH-90s - Eurocopter’s subsidiary, Australian Aerospace, and the Australian Defence Material Organisation (DMO) today signed the contract to provide 34 additional MRH-90 medium-lift helicopters to the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and the associated support for a period of ten years. The signing ceremony, which took place in Canberra, follows the announcement last week by Prime Minister John Howard and Defence Minister Brendan Nelson that the ADF was ordering the extra MRH-90s, the most advanced helicopter of its size in the world.
06/26/2006 : Eurocopter and “Gazpromavia” have signed Maintenance Center Agreement to provide Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) services for Eurocopter Helicopters in Russia - Eurocopter is the first Western aircraft manufacturer to implement a full scale Maintenance Center to provide Maintenance Repair and Overhaul services for Eurocopter helicopters in Russia. The Center is based on the premises of Ostafievo airport located near Moscow.
06/19/2006 : New major order for Eurocopter in Australia: the Federal Government will add 34 MRH-90s - Eurocopter is once again selected by the Australian government to fulfill the Army helicopter needs. This decision comes less than two years after the Federal Government ordered the first 12 MRH-90s as additional troop lift helicopters. Already in December 2001, Eurocopter was selected to provide 22 Tiger Armed Reconnaissance Helicopters (ARH) to the Australian Army.
06/02/2006 : LAUNCH OF THE DEVELOPMENT CONTRACT FOR THE KHP HELICOPTER WITH EUROCOPTER - On the eve of the arrival in France of the Korean minister, Mme. 05/17/2006 : EC135 Sales Success leads to new Assembly Lines in Switzerland and Spain - Brandnew Corporate Machine on Display at ILA - Eurocopter’s order book for the EC 135 stands at over 550 units as ILA opens. It is the company’s top seller and the best-selling light twin-engined helicopter worldwide. In the past couple of months, the company signed a contract with Switzerland for 18 EC635s plus two EC135s for the Armed Forces, and a framework agreement with Spain for 48 EC135 law enforcement helicopters. As part of these deals, Eurocopter agreed to set up assembly lines in the two customer countries. As of 2007, the Swiss company RUAG will assemble 16 out of the 18 EC635s, with the total Swiss order being the single-highest in terms of value placed for the EC135/635 family to date. With Spain, which has already participated in the EC135 program in the past by producing components and doing customization, cooperation will be further extended to final assembly of the EC135 at Eurocopter’s newly established Albacete facility. This step is taken in view of the large Spanish law enforcement requirement and further sales potential in that country

05/17/2006 : On Display at ILA, Eurocopter’s enhanced EC155 B1 is the Top-End Choice for Law Enforcement Missions - In the Static Display at ILA, Eurocopter is showing an EC155 B1 on loan from the German Federal Police, Bundespolizei. The EC155 B1 is Eurocopter’s top-end product for demanding law enforcement and VIP missions. The Bundespolizei operates a total of 15 of these aircraft. They are part of a total fleet of 102 Eurocopter helicopters in their service.
05/17/2006 : NH90, the NATO Standard Helicopter of the 21st Century, Displayed in Flight at ILA - In conjunction with NH Industries, Eurocopter is displaying the NH90, the world’s most advanced tactical transport and naval helicopter in its class, at this year’s ILA. Launch customer is the German Bundeswehr for the tactical transport version (TTH), for which qualification was granted by NAHEMA (NATO Helicopter Management Agency) on March 31st, 2006. One of the NH90 TTHs destined for the German Army, TGEA02, will be displayed daily in flight and flown by Eurocopter test pilot Herbert Graser; a second aircraft is shown in the Static Display

05/11/2006 : American Helicopter Society presents Technology Achievement Award to Eurocopter Engineer - The American Helicopter Society (AHS) presented its Grover E. Bell Award for technological achievement to Dr. Valentin Klöppel, Program Manager Aeromechanic and Flight Control Engineering at Eurocopter Deutschland, on May 10, 2006, at the AHS Forum in Phoenix, Arizona, for leading the development which led to the world’s first helicopter flight with an electrical flap rotor control system. The Grover E. Bell Award, created in 1957, is awarded annually to a person who has made an outstanding contribution within the field of research and experimentation in helicopter development during the preceding year. The AHS thereby honored Dr. Klöppel’s personal contribution to a program which constitutes a decisive step towards lowering noise emissions and vibrations in helicopters through adaptive rotor controls. Eurocopter is extremely proud of this honor and congratulates Dr. Klöppel and the involved team for this remarkable achievement.
05/11/2006 : Eurocopter receives American Helicopter Society’s World Record Trophy for Mount Everest Landing - Eurocopter has been awarded the American Helicopter Society’s Igor Sikorsky International Trophy on May 10 in Phoenix, Arizona, for achieving the high-altitude world record with an AS350 B3 landing on top of Mount Everest in 2005. The Igor Sikorsky International Trophy was created in 1961 by Sikorsky Aircraft and is awarded annually to the company that designed and manufactured a pure helicopter establishing an official record during the preceding calendar year. The award was granted almost precisely one year after the world record was achieved in May 2005. Eurocopter is honored to receive this trophy and extends its thanks to the program team which designed and built this high-performance helicopter.

In the corporate configuration, the EC155 B1 offers a level of passenger comfort comparable to that of a corporate fixed-wing aircraft. The powerful engines enable the fastest cruising speed of any helicopter in its class while the five-bladed main rotor and advanced Fenestron® tail rotor system ensure a smooth, vibration-free flight at the lowest possible noise level. 05/03/2006 : EC135 even more attractive to Corporate Operators following Performance and Payload Upgrade – Brandnew “Flying Bulls” Machine on Display at EBACE - Eurocopter’s order book for the EC 135 stands at around 550 units as EBACE opens. It is the company’s top seller and the best-selling light twin-engined helicopter worldwide. Although predominantly known as the preferred-choice in Emergency Medical Services and Law Enforcement, the EC 135 has acquired high acceptance and appreciation in the corporate market, with 16 per cent of deliveries to date having been to this market. One of these aircraft, delivered only recently to The Flying Bulls GmbH & Co. KG of Austria, is on show at Eurocopter’s booth at EBACE.
05/03/2006 : Maverick Helicopters of Las Vegas orders nine EC130 B4 for Tourist and Charter Flights - Maverick Helicopters, which specializes in helicopter tours of the Las Vegas Strip and Grand Canyon, plus corporate and charter wedding flights, has announced that it is purchasing nine new EC130 B4s in addition to its existing fleet of 12 EC130 B4s and six AS350 B2s. Once the nine new EC130s have gone into service, Maverick will be the largest operator of this type in the world. The Las Vegas operator refers to the EC130 B4 as “Eco Star” due to its ecological compatibility and low noise emission. A fast-growing aerial tour operator, Maverick focuses on providing its clients with the safest, most comfortable, and VIP-style service possible.
04/26/2006 : Successful maiden flight of a bearingless Advanced Technology Rotor Innovative rotor technology for increased comfort and reduced costs - Eurocopter has celebrated another milestone in the development of the rotor technology of the future at its Donauwörth plant. Following the first successful flight of a BK117 helicopter with an adaptive rotor system in September 2005, today saw the maiden flight of the newly developed 5-blade “Advanced Technology Rotor” fitted on an EC145 test helicopter. This rotor is designed to be ideally suited for 4-ton class helicopters.

04/21/2006 : Switzerland orders 20 EC635/EC135 for its Armed Forces - The Swiss procurement agency, armasuisse, and Eurocopter signed a contract for 20 helicopters on April 25th in Berne, Switzerland. Under the Swiss Light Transport and Training Helicopter (LTSH) program, 18 EC635 for utility and advanced training missions and two EC135 for VIP/parliamentarian transport missions have been ordered. The contract was signed by Dr. Alfred Markwalder, Chief of Armament and Peter Lyoth, Director Federal Office for Weapon Systems for the Swiss government and by Philippe Harache, Executive Vice President Customers Directorate of Eurocopter and Dr. Lutz Bertling, Executive Vice President Governmental Helicopters of Eurocopter and CEO of Eurocopter Deutschland GmbH.

04/07/2006 : Japan Defense Agency received first EC225 in VIP configuration for the Japanese Emperor’s Royal Flight Service. - Japan Defense Agency (JDA) has received on 29th of March, the first EC225 in VIP configuration for the transport of the Japanese Emperor, Prime Minister and official guests. This is to replace its fleet of the current AS332L which had been acquired 20 years ago. 09/28/2006 : Eurocopter receives the «Trophées de l’Economie » (Employment Award) - As part of the 11th “Trophées de l’Economie” (Econmy Awards), organized by the La Provence Group and France 3 Méditérranée, the “Trophée de l’Emploi” was awarded to Eurocopter. This Dublin based business man, who is used to visiting the Monaco Yacht Show every year, since he owns a yacht, has decided to acquire the last born in the Ecureuil family,a 7-8 seat single engine helicopter, whose model is displayed on the terrace of the Port Palace during the exhibition. It’s his first ever helicopter. He’s now very impatient to learn how to fly it!

09/13/2006 : 400th EC120 delivered to Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department - The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department (SCSD) has taken delivery of a new Eurocopter EC120. It is the 400th EC120 to be received by a customer since the first EC120 was delivered in 1998.
09/12/2006 : Air Methods Signs Open-Ended MOU for 10 A-Stars Annually - Denver, CO: Air Methods Corporation, the largest air medical transportation provider in the United States, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with American Eurocopter to purchase ten AS350 B2/B3 “AStar” helicopters annually, on an indefinite basis. The AStars will join Air Methods’ current fleet of approximately 200 rotary and fixed-wing aircraft, which includes Eurocopter, Bell, MD and Sikorsky helicopters.
09/08/2006 : German Army Air Corps School in Bückeburg clocks up 30,000 Flight Hours with EC135 Training Helicopters Eurocopter’s first full System Support Contract for the German Army, a resounding Success - The German Army’s EC135 training helicopter fleet at the German Army Air Corps School in Bückeburg reached the 30,000-hour mark at the end of August 2006. The German Army has been operating 14 EC135 state-of-the-art training helicopters since 2000 and relies on a customer maintenance and service contract with Eurocopter Deutschland GmbH to ensure smooth operation. These helicopters are used for advanced flight training for all parts of the German military.
09/04/2006 : The INAER group continues the renewal of its fleet with nine new Eurocopter helicopters First order of an EC145 in Spain - On 29 August 2006, the INAER group, European leader for on-shore helicopter operations, signed an agreement with Eurocopter España for the acquisition of nine helicopters, which will be integrated into the group's fleet between June 2007 and January 2009. This represents an investment of 33 million euros for INAER. These helicopters are destined for fire fighting, civil protection and emergency medical services (EMS).
08/30/2006 : Eurocopter delivers the 500th Aircraft of best-selling EC135 Helicopter Austrian ÖAMTC takes over its 25th Aircraft - Today, the 500th EC135 helicopter built at Eurocopter’s German production facility in Donauwörth was delivered to the Austrian Motorist and Touring Club (ÖAMTC). General Manager of Eurocopter’s German sites, Dr. Wolfgang Schoder, handed over the aircraft to Mr. Kurt Noé-Nordberg, CEO of ÖAMTC Air Ambulance Services. This is the 25th EC135 for ÖAMTC, one of the largest private operators of this helicopter type in the world.
08/28/2006 : Eurocopter delivers 1st Cougar helicopter to Bulgaria - In a ceremony at the 24th Air Force Base in Krumovo, Bulgaria, in the presence of several Bulgarian and French officials, Eurocopter handed over the first Cougar helicopter to base commander General Stefan Petrov. This initial delivery follows the signature in January 2005 of a contract with the Bulgarian armed forces for the acquisition of 12 Cougar AS 532 AL and 6 Panther AS 565 MB helicopters for a total of 360 million euros.
07/31/2006 : NH90 success story continues with NEW-ZEALAND Confirmation of Eurocopter’s leadership in military transport helicopter - The government of New-Zealand announced today a firm order for 9 NH90 to provide 8 operational helicopters to the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF). The NH90 has been selected by New-Zealand in April 2005 as the replacement helicopter for the RNZAF ageing Iroquois. (COHC) and Eurocopter announce the signing of a contract for the supply of two EC225 helicopters at the Farnborough International Airshow. COHC is the largest offshore helicopter operator in Asia.
07/14/2006 : U.S. Customs and Border Protection takes Delivery of its first EC120 - On July 14, the first of the EC120s ordered for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) were delivered at American Eurocopter’s Columbus, Mississippi, plant. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has ordered ten EC120s. Six more are to be delivered this year, all of them completed, test flown and delivered by the Columbus facility.
12/21/2006 : Eurocopter signs a nine year contract with the Australian government to maintain the RAAF AP-3C Orion aircraft fleet - Eurocopter, through its Australian subsidiary, Australian Aerospace, and the Austra-lian Government signed today a nine year contract worth $ 201 million for deeper maintenance of the RAAF AP-3C Orion aircraft. 12/19/2006 : Eurocopter Development in Russia Moves Ahead • New Certifications of Eurocopter Helicopters by the Russian Authorities • First EC135 and EC 145 Sales to Private Customers in Russia • Opening of First Maintenance Center in Moscow set for early 2007 - Three helicopters from the Eurocopter range the EC120 Colibri, the AS350 B3 Ecureuil and the EC130 B4 have just been certified by the Russian Authorities. These civil helicopters are now authorized by the Interstate Aviation Committee (MAK) to operate over Russian territory. They are following in the footsteps of the EC145, certified in Russia in late 2005, and the BO105, AS355 N and AS350 B2 Ecureuils, BK117, AS332 L1 and L2 Super Pumas, certified in Russia in the 1990s.
12/13/2006 : Eurocopter hands over the first three NH90 Tactical Transport Helicopters to the German Army Significant Milestone in Europe’s largest Helicopter Programme - The first three latest-generation NH90 Tactical Transport Helicopters (TTH) were handed over to the German Army at Eurocopter’s Donauwörth facility in the presence of a large group of guests from the German Federal Ministry of Defence, the Federal Office of Defence Technology and Procurement, NAHEMA (NATO Helicopter Management Agency) as well as the German Army on December 13th, 2006. The German Army is the first customer to take delivery of the NH90. The aircraft with the serial numbers TGEA02 and TGEA03 will be used for flight training at the German Army Air Corps Weapons School in Bückeburg, while serial number TGEA05 will be used to train maintenance staff.
12/11/2006 : First UH-72A Light Utility Helicopter delivered to the U.S. Army New helicopter is a military version of the successful Eurocopter EC145 - EADS North America officially delivered the first UH-72A Light Utility Helicopter today to the U.S. Army, marking the beginning of this major defence program. The U.S. Army had selected the UH-145 (renamed UH-72A by the Army) in July 2006 with a requirement for up to 322 helicopters and a potential total life-cycle value of over billion. To date, the Army has ordered a total of 42 UH-72As, along with the associated training services for pilots and maintenance personnel. The UH-72A is based on the commercially success-ful Eurocopter EC145 which has become the standard rotary aircraft for emergency medical service and high demanding utility missions.

11/09/2006 : U.S. Army Places Second Production Order For Eurocopter UH-145 Light Utility Helicopters - The U.S. Army has ordered 34 additional Eurocopter UH-145 Light Utility Helicopters, bringing the total number of aircraft purchased by the Army to 42. The LUH requirement is for up to 322 helicopters with a potential total program life-cycle value of over $ 2 billion. EADS North America, the prime contractor for the UH-145, was selected by the Army to provide the UH-145 for the Light Utility Helicopter mission requirement on June 30, 2006. The value of the order is $ 170 million.
11/02/2006 : Dr. Lutz Bertling appointed as new Eurocopter CEO - With immediate effect, Dr. Lutz Bertling has been appointed as President and CEO of Eurocopter by the EADS Board of Directors. He succeeds Fabrice Brégier who has been appointed as COO of Airbus.
10/12/2006 : Eurocopter sells one EC135 and one EC145 in Poland’s growing Corporate Helicopter Market - Eurocopter, through the company Heli Invest, its Warsaw-based representative in Poland, has recently signed two contracts - for the first EC135 and the first EC145 in Poland respectively. Both contracts were finalised with two important corporate customers in Poland. Due for delivery early next year, these two sales mark the entry of the company’s advanced light twins in the Polish market, adding to the fleet of EC120 B and EC130 B4 helicopters (presently seven machines in total) already sold and operational in Poland. The fact that Heli Invest is also Eurocopter’s certified maintenance and service centre in Poland encouraged the customers’ decisions to opt for these two top-selling twin-engine helicopters.

10/03/2006 : NH90 TO SOON EQUIP HELLENIC ARMED FORCES - Eurocopter may be allowed to deliver to the Hellenic Armed Forces their first NH90 helicopters in the coming months.
