03/26/2003 : Maiden Flight of the Production HAP Tiger - One of the most important European helicopter programs - the Franco-German Tiger combat helicopter - has just successfully achieved another decisive milestone. The first production HAP Tiger due to be delivered to the French Army Air Corps (ALAT) took off from Marignane on 26 March 2003.
01/22/2003 : 2002: Eurocopter has Increased its Turnover by 12% and Captured 60% by Value of the worldwide Civil and Parapublic Market. - With orders for 301 new helicopters, the Eurocopter Group has strengthened its leading position in the world, by capturing 47% of the market for the number of new civil and military helicopters, equivalent to 29% by value.
01/16/2003 : Eurocopter South East Asia Celebrates 25 Years in Asia - On Thursday 16 January 2003 in Singapore, where Eurocopter's subsidiary Eurocopter South East Asia (ESEA) is based, a ceremony will be held to mark its 25th year of activity. On hand for this event will be Eurocopter Deputy to the-President and CEO, Fabrice Brégier, who will take over as Eurocopter Group President and CEO from Jean-François Bigay in April 2003, Senior Executive Vice-President Philippe Harache, and the subsidiary's President Bruno Boulnois.
01/15/2003 : Eurocopter Strengthens its Presence in Australia - The Australian subsidiary of Eurocopter was renamed Australian Aerospace on the 1st of January 2003 due to the merger of Eurocopter International Pacific Limited & Australian Aerospace Pty Ltd Australian Aerospace is a wholly owned subsidiary of Eurocopter, which in turn is a wholly owned by the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS), the largest aerospace and defence company in Europe.
06/17/2003 : 200,000 Hours of Heliborne Operations in the Service of the French Power Transmission Grid - At the Paris Air Show, André MERLIN, Director of RTE, the company responsible for managing France's power transmission grid, Jean-Pierre DEDIEU, Customer Service Executive Vice President of the Eurocopter group and Emeric d’ARCIMOLES, CEO of Turbomeca, celebrate the 200,000 hours of heliborne work that has been performed to monitor and maintain the French high and very-high voltage networks.
06/17/2003 : The Scandinavian Operator HTG Picks Up its First Offshore EC 155 B1 - This morning, Eurocopter President Fabrice Brégier presented Aage Krog, the President and founder of Helicopter Transportation Group (HTG), with the keys to the first of the two offshore EC 155 B1 helicopters ordered by this Norwegian company.
06/16/2003 : Bristow Helicopters Ltd Commemorates Its Fiftieth Anniversary - On 16 June at the 45th Paris Air Show, a ceremony was held at the Eurocopter’s Chalet VIP to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the creation of Bristow Helicopters Ltd. presided by Jean-François BIGAY. The celebration also coincided with another important event for Bristow Helicopters and Eurocopter: one of the company's Super Puma MK1s has surpassed the 30,000 flight hour barrier. This outstanding service life is a world record for this type of aircraft in the Eurocopter range.
06/12/2003 : Long Beach Police Department’s EC130 Turns 1,000 Flight Hours in Record Time - Last week, Long Beach Police Department, (LBPD) who took delivery last December of 2 - EC130s, reached an unprecedented milestone as one of their newly obtained EC130 helicopters turned over 1,000 flight hours in airborne support to ground police operations. This marks the first EC130 in the law enforcement market to reach this significant achievement.
06/10/2003 : Eurocopter marks 50 Years of Helicopter Technology and demonstrates its Leading Edge in Environmental Compatibility and Performance - With this year's Paris Airshow memorizing 100 years of motorized flight and commemorating the historical flight of the Wright Brothers to Paris, Eurocopter honours its roots and the remarkable achievements in helicopter technology over the last 50 years.
05/19/2003 : Swedish Police takes Delivery of its 8th EC 135 - Sweden is the latest addition to the growing number of countries to have chosen the EC 135 for its police services. On May 16th, the Rikspolisen took delivery of the last of a total of eight EC 135s at Eurocopter's Donauwörth facility. The helicopters will be based in Stockholm, Ostersund, Boden, Malmö and Gothenburg. With the Swedish Rikspolisen, Eurocopter has acquired another highly experienced police customer which has operated helicopters since 1964.
04/09/2003 : Jean-François Bigay Honoured as 2002 Aerospace Laureate by the Aviation Week and Space Technology magazine - Jean-François Bigay, President and CEO of Eurocopter from January, 1992 until March, 2003, has been selected as a 2002 Aerospace Laureate by Aviation Week and Space Technology and has been honoured in ceremonies yesterday evening at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington D.C. Bigay, who has had a long and distinguished career in aerospace, has been honoured in the Aeronautics/Propulsion category.
04/04/2003 : World Premiere for Helisim With the Level D Qualification of its Super Puma Full Flight Simulator - The DGAC, the French Civil Aviation Authority, has just awarded Helisim a Level D qualification certifying the company's Super Puma AS 332 L1 Full Flight Simulator to the European Joint Aviation Regulations (JAR) STD standards. This is the first-ever Level D qualification to JAR standards in Europe, and a world "first" for an Eurocopter helicopter.
04/03/2003 : Five AS 365 N3 Dauphins For the Greek Merchant Navy Five AS 365 N3 Dauphins For the Greek Merchant Navy - The contract signed by Eurocopter, and the Greek MoD/DGA (General Delegation for Armaments), in conjunction with the Greek Merchant Navy Ministry, became effectives at the end of March 2003. Worth close to 47 million euros, the contract covers the supply of five AS 365 N3 Dauphin 2 helicopters (plus 1 option).
09/25/2003 : Spanish Ministry of Interior signs up for 6 Eurocopter Helicopters - The “Direccion General de Trafico” of the Spanish Ministry of Interior has signed a contract for 4 AS 355N Ecureuil and 2 EC120B Colibris for delivery between 2003 and 2006. Contract value is € 12 million. Operating out of 6 bases, the six new helicopters will be used for traffic surveillance and traffic flow control.
09/25/2003 : Czech Police Buys 8 EC 135 - The Czech Ministry of the Interior through Omnipol A.S.A. placed an order for eight EC 135 light twin helicopters to equip its Police Aviation Dept. The aircraft will be delivered between 2003 early 2008
09/25/2003 : Eurocopter delivers EC 135 Number 300 - Bound for Police Service in the United Kingdom - Eurocopter, the world's leading helicopter manufacturer, has just handed over Serial Number 300 from its successful EC 135 light twin helicopter line to its UK dealer, McAlpine Helicopters Ltd. in Oxford. The aircraft is destined for the North Midlands Police, after completion and customisation by the British company. Number 300 is the 26th EC 135 to enter service in the UK, making it the best-selling new-generation light twin in this challenging market. It has firmly established itself as the preferred choice in law enforcement and emergency medical services.
09/24/2003 : Blue Hawaiian Helicopters clocks up 3,000 Flight Hours with EC 130 B4 - High Availability Praised - Blue Hawaiian Helicopters, the largest helicopter operator of the US State of Hawaii, who in February 2001 was the launch customer for the EC 130 B4, has clocked up a remarkable 3,000 flight hours with one of its EC 130s.The achievement is based on a stunning 1,400 flight hours flown per year! With an availability rate of 95 per cent, the aircraft provides excellent service. Blue Hawaiian has accumulated over 11,500 hours on its current fleet of EC 130s.
09/17/2003 : AVIC 2 and EUROCOPTER Sign a Teaming Agreement Framework in Order to Intensify Their Cooperative Relations - On the occasion of AVIA EXPO CHINA 2003, Mr. SHI Jianzhong Vice President of AVIC II and Mr. Philippe HARACHE, Eurocopter Senior Executive Vice President have signed this day the "TEAMING FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT" laying the ground for intensified cooperation between AVIC II, its production plants and Research Center on one side and Eurocopter on the other side.
09/17/2003 : CHINA: EUROCOPTER OPENS A PERMANENT OFFICE IN BEIJING - At the Aviation Expo China 2003 air show, Eurocopter officially announced the opening of permanent offices in Beijing. This decision made clear Eurocopter's intention to establish a long-term presence in China, and to become a privileged partner of the Chinese authorities.
09/10/2003 : 24 Tiger Combat Helicopters for Spain In 2007, the Spanish Army Will Receive the New HAD Version of the Tiger - Eurocopter welcomes the decision of the Spanish Government to select the Tiger helicopter, a choice that endorses it as the new reference for combat helicopters. The decision not only marks a new step in the building of a European defense industry, but it also allows Spain to become the third fully-fledged member of the Tiger program, along with France and Germany.

07/24/2003 : ADAC orders its 19th EC 135: Air Rescue Helicopter Fleet expanded further - On the occasion of a visit to Eurocopter's company headquarters in Marignane on July 24 and 25, Friedrich Rehkopf, Chief Executive of ADAC Luftrettung GmbH, and Fabrice Brégier, President of Eurocopter, signed a contract for a further EC 135, this being the 19th helicopter of this type for the air rescue enterprise, which is renowned worldwide.

12/18/2003 : The 400th Ecureuil AS 350 B3 to leave the Eurocopter Assembly Lines is Delivered to Motorcycle World Champion Michael Doohan. - The Eurocopter president, Fabrice Brégier, symbolically handed over the keys of the 400th single engine AS 350 B3 Ecureuil helicopter to leave the Eurocopter assembly line to the Australian motorcycle world champion, Michael Doohan, during a ceremony at the Marignane site.
12/15/2003 : First Flight of the "Full Fly-By-Wire" Version of the Third NH90 Prototype - We are very proud to announce a world 'first' on the Marignane site: the successful first flight of the NH90 helicopter equipped exclusively with fly-by-wire (FBW) controls.
12/10/2003 : “Level D” Certification for the HELISIM Dauphin AS 365 N2 Full Flight Simulator - Eurocopter is very pleased to announce that the DGAC (French Civil Aviation Authority) has just awarded “Level D” Certification to the HELISIM Dauphin AS 365 N2 Full Flight Simulator (FFS) - a certification that meets the European JAA (Joint Aviation Authorities) standards. Thanks to this new certification, HELISIM is now the only pilot training academy in the world to possess three “Level D” certifications for helicopters. In March 2003, HELISIM received Level D certification for its Super Puma AS 332 L1 FFS, and in July of the same year for its Super Puma AS 332 L2 FFS.
11/27/2003 : Eurocopter Meets Conditions for ISO 9001:2000 Quality Standard in France and Germany - In November 2003, Eurocopter obtained the ISO 9001:2000 and EN9100:2002 certification for all its sites in France and Germany. The 'Association Française pour l'Assurance de la Qualité' (French Quality Assurance Association) performed the audit in France and the certification organization AEROCERT performed the audit in Germany.
11/18/2003 : Eurocopter Romania Presents Three of his Future EC 135 helicopters to the Romanian Ministry of Interior - Three helicopters were presented to the Romanian Ministry of Interior on Tuesday at the Eurocopter-Romania plant in Brasov. Two are equipped for Police missions and one for emergency medical service. They are considered as being decisive elements to meet European state-of-the-art requirements in the field of Police- and Air Rescue Missions. In addition Eurocopter and Eurocopter-Romania signed an agreement to implement a helicopter assembly line for the EC135. State Secretary Nicolae Bercheret and other high ranking political representatives attended the official ceremony.
10/24/2003 : 25 Years of Helicopter Production in Donauwörth - Opening of the new Flight-Test Hangar signifies Growth at Eurocopter Deutschland Eurocopter Deutschland - The new F8 flight-test hangar for the multinational Tiger and NH90 programmes was officially opened today at the Eurocopter facility in Donauwörth. This month the Donauwörth site celebrates its 25th anniversary as a helicopter production plant, a testimony to the Bavarian success story in the aviation industry.
10/20/2003 : Brazil Currently has the World’s Seventh Largest Rotating Wing Aircraft Fleet : Helibras is the Leader in the Turbine-Driven Helicopter National Market With More than 400 Aircraft delivered in 25 Years - Divided into four specific areas – civil, parapublic, military and offshore – the Brazilian market currently has the world’s seventh largest rotating wing aircraft fleet. There are 1.050 helicopters in operation, 210 of which piston-driven and 840 turbine-driven, a segment in which Helibras holds the leadership with 47% market share, which accounts for 392 models produced by the company operating in the country.
10/20/2003 : Helibras, the Only Helicopter Manufacturer Installed in Brazil, has Been Responsible, During the last 25 Years for the Assembly, Sales and Customer-Support of Eurocopter Aircraft in the Country - The only helicopter manufacturer installed in Brazil and Latin America’s only Eurocopter assembly plant, Helibras was founded in 1978 in São José dos Campos, in São Paulo’s country area, with a pre-operating phase in G.T.A’s hangar. The company was created based on a project developed by French company Aerospatiale, meeting a request made by the Brazilian Government.
10/13/2003 : 2 Tiger Helicopters participate during Spain's National Holiday Celebration - On Sunday October 12, two Tiger helicopters participated for the first time ever in the national day flypast over La Castillana in Madrid in front of His Majesty the King of Spain. The presence of the Tigers had been requested by the Spanish Minister of Defense, and approved by the French and German authorities and OCCAR.

10/08/2003 : American Eurocopter’s new Mississippi Facility Receives Certification as an FAA-Approved FAR 145 Repair Station - American Eurocopter has successfully completed the certification process to obtain an FAA Repair Station Certificate for the company’s new facility at the Golden Triangle Airport in Columbus, Mississippi.
