03/22/2002 : Roll-Out of the First Production Tiger at Eurocopter : A European Success. - Series production of the Franco-German Tiger combat helicopter - one of Europe's most important helicopter programmes - is in full swing at Eurocopter's Marignane and Donauwörth plants. In the presence of more than 500 guests from politics, armed forces, industry and media from all over the world, the roll-out of the first production Tiger in UHT configuration (Unterstützungshubschrauber Tiger, i.e. Combat Support Helicopter Tiger for the German Army) took place at Eurocopter's German facility in Donauwörth on March 22, 2002.
03/11/2002 : U.S. Border Patrol to Add 13 AStar's to Fleet - In response to emergency funding initiatives with respect to border security, the United States Border Patrol has signed a contract for 13 AS350B3's with American Eurocopter Corporation (AEC) for immediate delivery.
02/21/2002 : Helisim One of the World's Most Advanced Training Centers is Ready for Business - Located at the Marseille-Provence International Airport, HELISIM is one of the largest and most advanced training centers in the world. It has just been inaugurated by the presidents of Eurocopter (Jean-François Bigay), Thales Training & Simulations (Guy Delevacque), Defense Conseil International (Yves Michot), and HELISIM (Guy Dabadie).
02/14/2002 : EC 130 B4 is a Market Success one Year After its launch. Silence and a Roomy Cabin for the latest addition to the Ecureuil/Squirrel Family - Marignane, February 14, Since its launch at last year's HeliExpo by US tourist operator Blue Hawaiian Helicopters, the EC 130 B4 has entered the market very successfully. This new helicopter was designed to occupy a strategic position in relation to the competition. It has an additional passenger seat and complies with the new helicopter noise-reduction regulations - in particular the US "Grand Canyon National Park" (GCNP) standard.
02/14/2002 : HELI UNIONAIR purchases Super-VIP EC 155 for Charter throughout Europe - HELI UNIONAIR, a Nuremberg (Germany) based helicopter operator, has just signed a contract for a VIP-equipped EC 155, thus becoming the first company in Germany to purchase Eurocopter's new medium-twin for VIP and corporate missions.
01/28/2002 : Eurocopter Confirms its Position as Technology Leader The World's first Helicopter with a Fly-by-Light Primary Flight Control System takes off in Ottobrunn - The Franco-German helicopter manufacturer, Eurocopter, once again confirmed its leading role in the research and development sector. On January 28, 2002, the first aircraft worldwide featuring a series production capable primary flight control system via optical fibres ("Fly-by-Light") successfully completed its official maiden flight at Eurocopter Deutschland GmbH's Ottobrunn facility near Munich.
01/22/2002 : 2001: Excellent Year for Eurocopter, Who Posted a 10% Increase in Turnover and Claimed 57% of the Civil and Parapublic Market, - 2001 was an excellent year for the Eurocopter Group, who chalked up 375 new aircraft orders, representing 43% of the market based on the number of new civil and military helicopters, and thus confirmed its position as the world's No. 1 helicopter manufacturer.
06/25/2002 : Bundeswehr awards Contract to Eurocopter for IFR Conversion of CH-53 Transport Helicopters - The Federal Office for Defence Technology and Procurement (BWB) has placed a multi-million Euro order with Eurocopter Deutschland GmbH for the conversion of 38 CH-53G/GS army helicopters to upgrade them for IMC (Instrument Meteorological Conditions) flights. Worth a total of 20.3 million Euros, the conversion programme will be completed at the end of 2005.
05/07/2002 : Eurocopter: Looking Back on 10 Years of Company History and Success with 10 New Helicopter Models - The Eurocopter Group, which was founded in 1992 following the merger of the helicopter activities of Aerospatiale-Matra (France) and DaimlerChrysler Aerospace (Germany), is now a 100% subsidiary of EADS European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company, one of the leading aerospace companies in the world. Having passed through successive integration phases, the group has become the first completely integrated aeronautics company at a European level.
04/24/2002 : Delivery of the First EC 145 to the French Sécurité Civile - Accompanied by Mr. Patrick Bellouard, the Director of the Aeronautical Programs Department (SPAé), the Eurocopter Group President Mr. François Bigay symbolically presented Mr. Michel Sapin, the Director of the French Civil Defense & Emergency Preparedness Organization, with the keys of its first EC 145.
04/11/2002 : The French HORIZON onboard Surveillance System in the Fjords of Norway - The NATO STRONG RESOLVE military exercise took place in Norway from March 1st to 15th. Approximately 19,000 people, 150 aircraft, and 50 ships took place in the maneuvers in both land and sea regions of the Norwegian territory.
04/02/2002 : The FIDAE 2002 Air Show: Eurocopter Inaugurates its New Installations in Santiago to Expand its Presence in South America - At the FIDAE 2002 International Air and Space Show in Chile, Eurocopter inaugurated its new installations at the Eulogio Sánchez Airport, in the heart of Santiago.
09/27/2002 : Ontario Police Department to Take Delivery of New AS 350B2 - The Ontario Police Department has purchased a new AS 350B2, marking their first acquisition of a Eurocopter product. The aircraft joins their fleet of MD 500Es and is expected to be delivered in early December.
09/27/2002 : RUAG Aerospace (Switzerland) and Eurocopter mark 35 Years of Outstanding Cooperation - In a ceremony held to mark the end of the TH 98 program in Alpenach (Switzerland) and attended by the Head of the Armaments Group and top-ranking military officials, Eurocopter President Jean-François Bigay praised the exceptional quality of the relations existing for the last 35 years with the Swiss industry in general and with Ruag Aerospace in particular.
07/25/2002 : The NH 90 Production Takes Shape - The front and rear NH90 fuselage sections have been delivered to Eurocopter Deutschland facility in Donauwörth (Munich), which produced the centre one, for the imminent fuselage junc-tion of the first serial production NH90. In accordance with the original NH90 Programme, a single source manufacturer produced the fuselage modules: Eurocopter (Marignane) turned out the front, Eurocopter Deutschland the centre and Agusta (at Brindisi facility) the rear one.
07/04/2002 : Australian Prime Minister Inspects Eurocopter Helicopters during his State Visit to Germany - During his three-day state visit to the Federal Republic of Germany the Australian Prime Minister, His Excellency John Howard, reserved some time in his busy schedule to visit a special display of the Franco-German helicopter manufacturer, Eurocopter, set up for him and his delegation at Munich Airport on July 3rd.
12/17/2002 : The Hong Kong Government Flying Service Receives the Last of its Five EC 155 B1 Helicopters - In a ceremony at Marignane, Mr. Philippe Harache, Executive Vice-President of Commercial Helicopters and External Relations, officially handed over the keys of the last of 5 EC 155 B1 helicopters to Mr. Brian Butt, Director of the Hong Kong Government Flying Service (GFS), who was accompanied for the occasion by Mr. Benny C.C. Lee, GFS Chief Aircraft Engineer.
12/12/2002 : The First EC 145 Delivered to Switzerland - On Thursday, the Swiss air rescue organization REGA received the first of five EC 145 helicopters in Donauwörth (Germany) that it had ordered. The helicopter manufacturer Eurocopter describes this delivery as being of major strategic importance. Switzerland together with REGA is synonymous with supreme standards in air rescue and is consequently a prestigious customer for the new Eurocopter model.
12/10/2002 : The French Gendarmerie Takes Delivery of its First EC 145 - Today the first Eurocopter EC 145 was officially handed over to the Directorate of the French Gendarmerie in a ceremony held at the headquarters of the Gendarmerie Central Flight Training Academy at Villacoublay. In the ceremony, Eurocopter President Jean François Bigay symbolically handed over the keys of the new helicopter to the Director General of the French Gendarmerie, Mr. Pierre Mutz.
12/05/2002 : Eurocopter Receives Notification of a Contract for 10 EC 725 Helicopters for the French Special Forces - In late November 2002, the SPAé (French Aeronautical Production Agency), acting on behalf of the French General Delegation for Armaments (DGA), notified Eurocopter of a contract for the supply of 10 medium-sized EC 725 helicopters to the French Special Forces.
11/26/2002 : First EC 130B4 in Australasia - Eurocopter International Pacific (EIP) has delivered the first EC130 B4 in Australasia to a private customer in New Zealand today. This EC130B4 is the first of six aircraft that have been sold to customers in the region. Two additional EC130B4's will be delivered to customers in New Zealand before the end of 2002 with the remainder being delivered in the region in 2003. Although this is the first of type flying in the region, the success of this new aircraft is clearly evident by the number of sales so far.
11/08/2002 : Eurocopter International Pacific delivers the 300th EC120B to a customer in Queensland - Today, Eurocopter International Pacific (EIP) delivered the 300th EC120B s/n 1300 to a property developer in Queensland. The handover ceremony took place at Brisbane Airport and was attended by Eurocopter Executives, Customers and the Media.
11/07/2002 : Eurocopter Takes a 21% Stake in COHC GAMEC to Develop its Service Offer in China in Opening an Approved Maintenance Center in Shenzhen - On Thursday, November 7, 2002, during the Zhuhai Air Show in China, Mr. Pu Jian, President of Citic Offshore Helicopter Co. Ltd (COHC), Mr. Bruno Boulnois, head of Eurocopter's Customer Service in the Asia Pacific region, Mr. Li Jiang Nan, President of Samwell Aviation and Mr. Allan Brown, International Commercial Director of Bristow Helicopters Ltd have signed the agreement confirming the Eurocopter 21% participation to the capital of COHC GAMEC (COHC General Aviation Maintenance & Engineering Co.)
10/30/2002 : First Flight of a US Coast Guard HH 65 Dolphin Helicopter Powered by 2 Turbomeca Arriel 2C1 Engines - Eurocopter and Turbomeca announce that the first flight of a prototype U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) HH 65 Dolphin helicopter, powered by 2 Turbomeca Arriel 2C1 engines, was successfully completed on October 8, 2002. This prototype flight took place at the USCG Aircraft Repair and Supply Center in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, USA.
10/29/2002 : First Flight of the All-Weather Demonstrator - On 15 October 2002, the All Weather Helicopter (AWH) Demonstrator made its maiden flight from Marignane, with Eurocopter Chief Test Pilot Didier Guerin at the controls, Patrick Bremond as backup pilot, and Frédéric Nourisson as Flight Test Engineer.

10/24/2002 : Major Milestone for NH90 Program : Crash Test Completed - This Thursday, the future military transport and naval helicopter NH90 completed the crash safety test at Eurocopter's Ottobrunn facility in Germany. Except for a few marginal, non-critical areas, the helicopter proved its ability to withstand a crash. This is a major milestone for the NH90 program and an important prerequisite for the scheduled delivery of the helicopter to the armed forces of the five NAHEMA nations starting in 2004.

10/15/2002 : Two More AS 532 AL Cougars for Slovenia's Defense Ministry - On 15 October 2002, the Slovenian Defense Ministry and Eurocopter signed a contract in Ljubljana confirming an option for two AS 532 AL Cougar helicopters.
10/08/2002 : Eurocopter Appoints Marc Paganini as New CEO of its American Subsidiary - Eurocopter today announced the appointment of Marc Paganini as CEO of American Eurocopter. He will report to Eurocopter Subsidiaries and Participations Directorate. American Eurocopter is the Texas based unit of Eurocopter in the United States
10/03/2002 : First Flight of the EC 725 with the MAKILA 2A Engine - The French Air Force has ordered four EC 725 helicopters re-engined with the Turbomeca Makila 2A. The first helicopter in the batch recently made its maiden flight from the Marignane site under the control of test pilot Hervé Jammayrac, flight test engineer Bernard Turcat, and flight test technician Daniel Sémioli.
10/02/2002 : Azerbaijan Airlines Orders 6 Helicopters From Eurocopter - The Chief Executive Officer for Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), Jahangir Askerov, and the Commercial Action Executive Vice President for the Eurocopter Group, Olivier Lambert, have just signed a contract for the purchase of two AS 332 L1 Super Puma helicopters and four EC 155 B1 helicopters. The French Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Renaud Muselier, also attended the signing ceremony held in Baku.
