03/29/2001 : Eurocopter Hands Over the 200th EC 120 B COLIBRI to the Swedish Operator Kallax Flyg AB - On March 29 at Marignane, Jean-François Bigay, President of the Eurocopter Group, handed over the keys of the 200th EC 120B Colibri single-engine light helicopter to Sven Stenvall, President of Kallax Flyg AB. The Swedish company is a subsidiary of Stenvall Trä AB, one of the most profitable European sawmills in its category.
02/14/2001 : The Tiger Participates in the Australian Airshow 2001. - Tiger the most advanced combat helicopter participates in the Avalon Air Show from the 13th to the 18th of February, in Australia. During this period, the PT2 prototype will make a series of demonstration flights.
02/11/2001 : Ecureuil / Squirrel / AStar / TwinStar family: Eurocopter delivers the 3000th aircraft. It's an EC 130 B4 for Blue Hawaiian Helicopters - The continued market success of Eurocopter's Ecureuil / Squirrel / AStar / TwinStar family hits a new peak during HeliExpo 2001 with the delivery of the 3000th aircraft. It is in fact an EC 130 B4, latest addition to the single-engined AStar product line, and the operator is Blue Hawaiian Helicopters, USA. This company is the launch customer for the ultra-quiet, spacious, high-performance new helicopter.
02/11/2001 : Eurocopter launches EC 130 B4 at HeliExpo 2001 - At this year's HeliExpo, in Anaheim California, Eurocopter once again introduced a brandnew product to the world market: the light single-engined EC 130 B4, latest member of the successful Ecureuil / Squirrel / AStar family.
01/23/2001 : Overview of 2000 : A Strong Upswing in Turnover. A Record Number of Orders Thanks to the NH90. A Well-Filled Order Book for the Next Ten Years. - In 2000, the Eurocopter Group enjoyed a second year of exceptional orders (effect of the NH 90, after the Tiger in 1999) for 531 new helicopters. The breakdown of the orders is as follows: 61 EC 120 B Colibris, 137 single-engine Ecureuil/Fennecs, 13 twin-engine Ecureuil/Fennecs, 40 EC 135s, 7 BK 117s, 18 Dauphin/Panthers, 7 EC 155 Bs, 5 Super Puma/EC 225s - Cougars/EC 725s and 243 NH 90s.
01/15/2001 : Future Leader of SAR Combat Missions the New EC 725 Helicopter is Presented to the French Air Force Chief of Staff - In Marignane, Jean-François Bigay, President of the Eurocopter Group, presented the EC 725 helicopter to General Jean-Pierre Job, Chief of Staff of the French Air Force, who flew the aircraft for 40 minutes.
06/21/2001 : Creation of Eurocopter Romania S.A. - According to the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in Brasov on December 22nd, 2000, MM. Jean-François Bigay, President and CEO of EUROCOPTER and Neculai Banea, President of IAR S.A. Brasov, have signed the Shareholders Agreement of EUROCOPTER ROMANIA S.A., a joint venture company currently under incorporation process in Brasov, Romania
06/21/2001 : Eurocopter welcomes Portugal's Decision to Join the NH90 Programme - The Armament Directors of France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands and the State Secretary of Portugal signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Le Bourget on June 21, 2001, to include Portugal as fifth European nation in the NH90 programme with a 1.2 per cent stake. Portugal will purchase 10 NH90 helicopters for tactical transport missions and in turn become a member of NAHEMO (NATO Helicopter Management Organisation, comprising the Steering Committee and NAHEMA, the NATO Helicopter Management Agency), the government authority which controls the programme.
06/20/2001 : The Swiss Air Rescue Guard REGA Signs a MoU for 4 EC 145 Helicopters at Paris - Officially launched at the 44th Paris Air Show, the EC 145 is already off to a promising start. Shortly after the German Automobile Club ADAC had signed a contract for 2 of these helicopters on June 19, the Swiss Air Guard (REGA) has followed suit and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the acquisition of 4 EC 145s.
06/20/2001 : CHC Helicopter Corporation Launch Customer for the EC 225 - Craig L. Dobbin, Chairman and CEO of CHC Helicopter Corporation and Jean-François Bigay, President and CEO of the Eurocopter Group, have just signed a contract at the Paris Air Show for the acquisition of an EC 225 (delivery in mid-2003) and an AS 332 L2 Super Puma (delivery in Q4 of 2002).
06/19/2001 : Mont Blanc Hélicoptères Launches the EC 130 B4 in Europe - Today at the 44th Paris Air Show, Mr. Marc Blanc (left) President and CEO of the French company Mont Blanc Hélicoptères (MBH),and Dr. Siegfried Sobotta Eurocopter's Senior Executive Vice President, have signed a contract for two EC 130 B4 helicopters, to be delivered by the end of June 2002.
06/19/2001 : The German Automobile Club ADAC Becomes EC 145 First German Customer - The BK 117 C-2 - or EC 145 as it is now called - is the latest Eurocopter addition to the 4 metric ton class of helicopters. And it is already setting new standards for success. Even before its official market launch, the Sécurité Civile (French Civil Defense & Emergency Preparedness Organization) had ordered thirty-two machines, and the French Gendarmerie eight.
06/19/2001 : EUROCOPTER, ONERA, and DLR Join Forces in a Research & Technology Partnership - The formation of a European aerospace community came even closer to reality on June 19 at the Paris Air Show. At 11:00 a.m. at their Stand 2B-H5, the French (ONERA) and German (DLR) research organizations have signed a Research & Technology partnership agreement with Eurocopter. The goal is to further improve the conditions for the development of European helicopters and to offer the most competitive products on the world market.
06/19/2001 : Rocky Mountain Helicopters to Buy EC 130 B4s for EMS Operations - Rocky Mountain Helicopter's Chairman and CEO Russ Spray and Jean-François Bigay Eurocopter's President and CEO have just signed a contract at the Paris Air Show for the acquisition of 10 EC 130 B4 helicopters.
06/18/2001 : The Swedish Transport Company SHS Buys Three EC 155B Helicopters - Today at the 44th Paris Air Show, Mr. Aage Krog President of the Swedish company ?Swedish Helicopter Service? (SHS), and Dr. Siegfried Sobotta Executive Vice President of Eurocopter, signed a contract for three EC 155B helicopters. Deliveries will begin in October 2002 and end in December of the same year. The EC 155Bs will to replace the Sikorsky S 76C+ helicopters currently in service.
06/18/2001 : The Government Flying Service Receives Its First AS 332 L2 Super Puma - At the Paris Air Show, Jean-François Bigay, President of the Eurocopter Group, officially handed over the keys to Brian Butt, Director of the Government Flying Service in Hong Kong, for the first of three AS 332 L2 Super Puma helicopters on order.
06/16/2001 : UK's Defence Helicopter Flying School passes 100,000 Flight Hours with AS 350 BBs - The Defence Helicopter Flying School (DHFS) of the United Kingdom has just passed 100,000 flight hours with its fleet of 38 AS 350 BB "Squirrel" (Ecureuil) helicopters since they entered service in early 1997, marking a remarkable milestone in the School's young history.
06/16/2001 : The EC 635 Successfully Completes its Initial Firing Trials - The EC 635 is the military version of the light twin-engine EC 135 helicopter. In May of this year, it completed its initial firing trials under the direction of the EC 635 development team. Test pilots, Andrew Warner and Rene Nater, and test engineers, Elmar Reitmaier and Armin Barth, verified the weapons systems that had to be qualified for Portugal, the launch customer of the EC 635. The trials lasted two weeks and were performed on the NATO Heichteren firing range.

06/15/2001 : Eurocopter Unveils Three New Helicopters at the Paris Air Show - For the first time ever at the Paris Air Show, the Franco-German Eurocopter Group will be presenting no less than 3 new types of helicopter. Two of them will be making their first public showing.
05/02/2001 : The Photographer Yann Arthus Bertrand Comes to Pick-up his EC 120 Helicopter - In a ceremony in Marignane, Jean-François Bigay, the President of the Eurocopter Group, presented the photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand with the keys of his new EC 120 single-engine light helicopter.
04/26/2001 : HELICAP - 15,000 Hours Logged for Emergency Medical Support(EMS) Missions by the World Leader Operator of EC 135 Helicopters - Michel Capoulade, Executive Manager of the Helicap company, and Jean-François Bigay, Eurocopter Chief Executive Officer, celebrated the 15,000 hours logged for EMS missions by the Helicap fleet of 12 twin-engine EC 135 helicopters, during a ceremony held at Helicap head office in Issy-lès-Moulineaux.
09/26/2001 : Shell Petroleum Development Company Ltd. Receives Its First EC 155 B - At the Eurocopter Marignane plant, Jean-François Bigay, President of the Eurocopter Group, officially handed over the keys to Ron Van Den Berg, Chairman of Shell Nigeria, for the first of six EC 155 B helicopters on order. Mr Brian Humphries, Managing Director of Shell Aircraft and Mr.Ogiemwonyi, General Manager of NAPIMS, attended also the ceremony.
09/05/2001 : HELISIM Lands a Major Initial Contract - After a hard fight against five competitors, HELISIM has just won the mid-2000 competitive bid of the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) for the purchase of Full Flight Simulator (FFS) training time on the Cougar MK2.
08/10/2001 : EC 135 for the Swedish Police - The EC 135 remains the most successful helicopter of its class in public service. This has been underlined once again by a fix order of seven EC 135s by the Swedish Ministry of the Interior for use by the country's police. The EC 135 was once more deemed superior to its competitors, the Explorer from MD Helicopters and the Bell 427. The EC 135s will replace the Bell 206s currently in service. The first aircraft (SN 189) was handed over today by Dr. Siegfried Sobotta, Senior Executive Vice President of the Eurocopter Group, to Sten Heckscher, Rikspolischef, at the helicopter base of the squadron in Tullinge (Stockholm). Further deliveries are scheduled for November (two), three more will follow in 2002, starting from spring, and the final one in early 2003.
08/10/2001 : Eurocopter's Tiger Selected as the Tenderer by the Australian Minister of Defence - The Honorable Peter Reith, MP, Minister for Defence of Australia, has just announced today the selection of Eurocopter International Pacific, the Eurocopter subsidiary for this region, as the tenderer to advance to the tender development stage of Project Air 87, Armed Reconnaissance Helicopters (ARH).
12/21/2001 : Eurocopter Tiger ARH Contract Awarding in Australia - Today in Canberra Jean-François Bigay, President of Eurocopter, and Mike Roche, Under Secretary Defence Materiel Organisation signed the contract for Project Air 87, Armed Reconnaissance Helicopters (ARH).
10/16/2001 : Samsung Techwin is Now a Eurocopter Service Center In South Korea for Helicopters in the Dauphin Family and Receives a Safety Award for Achieving 20, 000 Flight Hours with their Eurocopter Fleet - Mr. Joong-Koo Lee, President and CEO of Samsung Techwin Company Ltd., and Olivier Lambert, Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing of the Eurocopter Group, signed an agreement making Samsung Techwin the Eurocopter Service Center in South Korea for helicopters in the Dauphin family. This agreement extends to both the civil and parapublic sectors.
10/13/2001 : Six Fennec AS 555 SN Helicopters for the Malaysian Navy - At the LIMA 2001 International Air Show in Langkawi, Dato Hashim Meon, General Secretary of the Malaysian Ministry of Defence, and Olivier Lambert, Executive Vice President Sales & Marketing of Eurocopter, signed on October 13, 2001, a contract for the supply of six AS 555 SN Fennec helicopters to the Royal Malaysian Navy.
