03/16/1999 : Federal Border Guard updates its helicopter fleet - first three Eurocopter EC 155s commissioned - From now on, the German Federal Ministry of the Interior has probably the most up-to-date helicopters in the world at its disposal for the patrol missions of its border guards, the Bundesgrenzschutz (BGS). The first three Eurocopter EC 155s of the 13 helicopters of this type ordered were officially handed over today at an inaugural ceremony at the Bonn/Hangelar base of the BGS Aviation Group in the presence of invited guests from politics, industry and press.
03/15/1999 : The Lama Celebrates 30 Years With an Altitude Record of 12,442 Meters Still Standing - On March 17, 1969 the SA315B Lama made its maiden flight. Three years later, on June 21, 1972, Jean Boulet reached an altitude of 12,442m, setting an outright world altitude record that remains unbeaten to this day.
03/01/1999 : The Alouette 3: A Grand Old Lady Celebrates 40 Years ! - It was on February 28,1959 at Marignane, at the Sud-Aviation plant now known as Eurocopter, that the SA316B 'Alouette 3' made its maiden flight with Jean Boulet at the controls, assisted by Robert Malus. A mythical machine, the Alouette 3 was following on the heels of the no less famous Alouette 2, the first turbine-powered helicopter in the world to go into production.
01/21/1999 : Eurocopter confirms its position as the world's leading helicopter manufacturer - 1998: ON A MARKET THAT IS ON A GENERAL DOWNSWING, EUROCOPTER WINS AN EVEN LARGER MARKET SHARE, DECLARES A HIGHER TURNOVER AND CONFIRMS ITS POSITION AS THE WORLD'S LEADING HELICOPTER MANUFACTURER.
01/05/1999 : News from ERA, one of the major Eurocopter customer - Era Aviation Inc., the third largest helicopter operator in the gulf of Mexico and the world's fifth largest, has ordered five more Eurocopter AS350 B2's (Ecureuil/ASTAR). With a current total of 21 AS350B2's, the additional five Astars will make Era the largest operator of commercial AS350B2's in the US.
06/18/1999 : Production Contract for 160 Tiger Signed - In presence of Jean-Yves Helmer, Head of the French Armament Agency, DGA, and Dr. Hans-Heinrich Weise, National German Deputy Armament Director, Detlev Petry President of the BWB (Federal German Agency for Military Technology and Procurement) signed the production contract for the Franco-German combat and support helicopter, Tiger, on June 18, 1999, during the International Aerospace Exhibition at Le Bourget.
06/17/1999 : Rocky Mountain adds six EC 135s and four AS 350 B3's to its fleet - Today at Le Bourget, Rocky Mountain Holdings L.C.C Chairman & CEO Russ Spray and President and COO James Weaver signed a contract with Americain Eurocopter for six EC 135s and four AS 350 B3's. The helicopters will begin delivery in the first quarter of the year 2000. Rocky Mountain, based in Provo, Utah is the largest pure air medical provider in the United States. It currently has a helicopter fleet of more than 70.
06/17/1999 : Eurocopter delivers the 500th Helicopter in the Super Puma/Cougar family to Bristow Helicopters - Today, the Eurocopter Group handed over the 500th helicopter in the Super Puma/Cougar range to the offshore operator Bristow Helicopters Group Ltd at the Paris Air Show 1999.
06/16/1999 : 100th EC135 Delivered : Bavarian Police Force Completes Its Fleet. - The EC135 with the serial number 100 was handed over to the Bavarian Police during a little celebration on June,16. Patrick Gavin, President of Eurocopter and Dr.Siegfied Sobotta Co-President of Eurocopter handed over the keys to Franz Brisch, Member of the Internal Affairs Committee of the Bavarian Parliament and responsible for law enforcement.
06/16/1999 : 1000 Users Already Won Over by Eurocopter's Electronic Documentation - The delivery of the 1000th OPEN license to the French operator LOC' HELI, whose Ecureuil fleet comprises 5 AS 350 BAs, 1 AS 350 B3 and 2 AS 355Ns, is conclusive proof of Eurocopter's leadership and advance in the field of electronic documentation.

06/12/1999 : The EC 155: Eurocopter's Latest Helicopter in the 5-tonne Class Makes its First Flying Appearance at the Paris Air Show - The twin-engine EC 155 B, the most recent addition to the Eurocopter civil helicopter range, is making its first flying appearance at the 43rd Paris Air Show. With this 5-tonne class helicopter, Eurocopter has extended the top end of its medium weight range.

06/01/1999 : NH90 Helicopter- 4th Prototype in Flight - - The maiden flight of the fourth prototype of the NH90 (PT4) took place successfully on 31 May 1999, at Eurocopter Deutschland's test facility in Ottobrunn near Munich: the NH90 Programme, which represents a landmark programme for Europe's aircraft industry, has added a further important step forward.

09/17/1999 : 3 Super Puma MK2 and 5 EC 155 B Helicopters for Hong Kong's Government Flying Service - Mr. Nigel Shipman, Director of Government Supplies within the Government Supplies Department and Hong Kong's government representative signed with Mr. Philippe Harache, Eurocopter's Executive Vice President in charge of commercial action, a contract for a value of 93.4 million dollars (USD) for the acquisition of three AS 332 L2 Super Puma and five EC 155 B helicopters.
09/09/1999 : The French Air Force receives its first "RESCO" Cougar MK2 from Eurocopter - The French Air Force has taken official delivery of its first RESCO Cougar Mk2 from the Eurocopter Group's Marignane plant (RESCO is the French acronym for Combat Search and Rescue or CSAR).
09/02/1999 : Eurocopter Tiger Combat Helicopter meets Poland's military Requirements - In view of its newly acquired Nato membership, Poland plans a comprehensive modernisation and upgrade of its armed forces' equipment, in line with a projected privatisation of its own aerospace and defence industry.
08/18/1999 : A Feasibility Demonstrator for the MI 38 Heavy Twin-Engine Helicopter - Today MIL, KAZAN HELICOPTERS and EUROCOPTER - the three companies forming EUROMIL, a company incorporated under Russian law - signed a contract in Moscow for the construction of a feasibility demonstrator for the MI 38 heavy twin in the 15 ton class. Pratt & Whitney Canada will supply the PWC 127 engines.
12/21/1999 : The Greek Authorities Take Delivery of Their First Two SAR Super Puma Helicopters - In Athens, the Greek Authorities officially took delivery of their first two AS 332 C1 Super Puma Helicopters, which are to be used for maritime surveillance and search and rescue (SAR) missions.
12/14/1999 : Less Than Two Years After Certification Eurocopter Delivers the 100 th Ecureuil/Astar B3 - The 100th AS 350 B3 Ecureuil single engine helicopter manufactured by Eurocopter and intended for a Japanese operator has been handed over to their distributor; Kawasho. Patrick GAVIN, Chairman of Eurocopter Board, symbolically gave the helicopter keys to Mr Kohzu in Marignane.
12/10/1999 : EC 135 Receives LBA IFR Certification - The German aviation authority, LBA (Luftfahrtbundesamt) has granted single-pilot and dual-pilot IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) certification featuring AFCS (Automatic Flight Control System) and the „ Avionique Nouvelle" cockpit configuration for the Eurocopter EC 135 on December 2, 1999.
10/22/1999 : Nine EC 635 Helicopters for the Portuguese Army, start-up Customer. - At the Defense Department in Lisbon, General Rivera, Director General of Armament and Defense Equipment, and Dr. Siegfried Sobotta, Co-Chairman of the Eurocopter Group, signed (in the presence of the Portuguese Minister of Defense Jaime Gama) a contract worth 35 million Euros. The contract calls for nine EC 635 helicopters to be supplied to the Portuguese Army.
10/13/1999 : Tiger: Hot Weather Test Campaign in Abu Dhabi –Top Performance of the PT3 in Extreme Operating Conditions - The Tiger PT3 underwent its hot weather campaign on the Al Bateen air base in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) from September 6 to 22, 1999.
10/11/1999 : The Government of Kuwait has chosen the EC 135 - After an international call for tenders, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior has chosen the EC 135 lightweight, twin-engine helicopter to equip its Air Transport Department.
