On June 16, Eurocopter Global Logistics was inaugurated in southern France, marking a major milestone in the evolution of Eurocopter’s global integrated support network for customers and also providing improved internal logistics for the company’s production and industrial activities.
Andrei Martirosov, CEO UTair Aviation, and Vladimir Demkin, director of Personnel Training Center (PTC) received from Derek Sharples, Eurocopter Executive Vice President for Support and Services, a certificate of conformity to Eurocopter training standards.
The center is approved for type rating training of pilots and mechanics on AS350 and AS355 helicopters, which are the best selling and most demanded Eurocopter light helicopter with nearly 5,000 helicopters delivered. This challenging project was launched by both partners three years ago with the signature of the frame contract at Heli Russia 2010. Now the center is fully operational.
Eurocopter now offers self paced, off-site e-learning to Customers, with state of the art training media. Web based training also covers the Eurocopter type rating courses for pilots.
During Heli-Expo 2011, Eurocopter Training Services launched its latest Virtual Cockpit Procedures Trainer (VCPT), now available for the EC135. This new e-learning training software is designed to virtually put trainees in the cockpit of the EC135 and test their skills with real-life, 3D images. This is the second VCPT available from Eurocopter Training Services, as it already exists for the EC225. Available in English, the VCPT is delivered on a Netbook laptop computer with the software loaded and ready to run.
American Eurocopter’s AS350 full flight simulator (FFS) received Level B certification, a world first. It is the only simulator in the United States to offer a full Tactical Flight Officer (TFO) suite for conducting true Crew Resource Management (CRM) training while flying actual law enforcement scenarios.
The AS350 FFS is convertible from AS350 B2 to AS350 B3 and is equipped with a full-motion platform, a full cabin, vehicle engine monitoring display (VEMD), night vision goggles (NVG), autopilot, FLIR Star Safire III (including hand controller, TV and IR mode), moving map functionality, and a SpectraLab SX-16 slaved searchlight
The Aberdeen Service Center in Scotland offers an EC225 simulator for offshore operators in the North Sea, designed for oil and gas and SAR training. Apart from the simulator itself, there is also a FLIR trainer built into the simulation so that entire SAR crews, including FLIR operators, can be trained.
