In the early 20s, Pr. Heinrich Focke was working on the development of a helicopter with
two lateral rotors. He created in 1923, in association with G. Wulf, the firm FOCKE-WULF,
which built small business aircraft until 1933; at which time the compagny was nationalized.
1936: Focke 61
In 1934, H. Focke decided to look into rotary wings and acquired a
licence for CIERVA's autogiros. From this experience, Focke began,
in 1934, the development of the FOCKE 61.
